Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW), Inc. is one of the leading retailers of branded footwear and accessories in the United States. DSW offers an impressive selection of footwear for women, men, and kids; the average DSW store stocks approximately 25,000 pairs per location. It appeals to a broad demographic of shoppers with the brand promise “Designer shoes. Warehouse prices.”
Aside from its huge array of shoe labels, DSW also sells 12 private label brands: Aston Grey, Audrey Brooke, Abella, Kelly & Katie, Bedford Block, Crown Vintage, Levity, Mercanti Florentini, Lulu Townsend, Studio Ink, Mix No. 6, and Taryn by Taryn Rose.
DSW buys are already great deals, but of course, sales or discounts make for sweeter deals. And whether shoe shopping in stores or online, you can find several ways to avoid paying full retail price with DSW:
The DSW Rewards Program
Become a DSW Rewards member and earn points with every purchase. DSW Rewards program members (referred to as “Shoe Lovers”) receive newsletters on the latest shoe trends, fashion and styling advice, member-exclusive offers, store events, and a special $5 off certificate for their birthday. Lastly, Shoe Lovers receive free shipping and free store returns on orders of $35 or more.
DSW in social media
DSW is also very active on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Follow DSW accounts for a chance to participate in online contests. DSW often holds a Free Shoesday contest every few weeks on a randomly chosen day: 30 random Shoe Lovers who submit the correct answer to the posted trivia question receive either a free pair of shoes or one (1) DSW bonus card with a $50 face value.
Android and iOS users can also download the mobile DSW app to earn 500 Rewards points and enjoy cool features, such as an in-store scanner, a clearance calculator, and instant access to their Rewards Center account.
The DSW Shoe Lover Visa
Apply for the DSW Shoe Lover Visa credit card to get even more benefits on top of the DSW Rewards Program. Card holders earn 2 points for every dollar on all purchases outside of DSW. Every 1,500 points is equal to one Rewards certificate. When redeeming your free shoes, up to three DSW Rewards certificates can be cashed in per transaction.
Every month, Rewards Program members who use their Shoe Lover Visa to shop at DSW can take advantage of free returns on all their DSW online purchases, as well as $5 off their next DSW order for that month. Other special rewards and offers are available from time to time.
Earn points just because
Visitors of their online site can sometimes score up to 500 bonus points just because. The offer code GOODSTUFF, for instance, has been known to randomly pop up on user browsers trying to access the site during heavier-than-usual traffic times, along with the following explanatory copy: “It’s called shoe shopping, not shoe waiting. Sorry for the hold-up. Let us make it up to you. Grab a pen and jot down the code GOODSTUFF for 500 bonus points on one purchase. Good for today only.” The fine print goes on to explain that the checkout code can be combined with two other Rewards certificates, but that it is not valid with other offers.
About Designer Shoe Warehouse, Inc.
According to the company website, DSW Inc. is on a mission “to be the #1 place that America turns (to) for shoes.” DSW Inc. seems driven to achieve this by maintaining a very strong presence on various social networks; aside from being active on Facebook and Twitter, DSW also authors the “Do You Speak Shoe Lover?” (DYSSL) blog, which regularly features styling advice and stories of “epic shoe love” from DSW brand aficionados. In October 2013, DSW released a book with the same title. The DYSSL book, which earned a spot on the New York Times Best Seller’s list, is a compilation of stories from Shoe Lovers around the world.
